Mountain View Church of God

Standing before you, Mountain View Church of God is more than just a building. It’s a testament to faith, community, and the enduring power of hope. This church, built in 2009, represents a journey of faith, founded in the humble home of Homer L. Thomas, Jr. and his wife, Mary P. Thomas, in 1991. Their initial services, held in their living room, were a testament to their unwavering belief. They were guided by the Holy Spirit and, with the support of Calvary Baptist Church, they were able to expand to a small facility and eventually find a permanent home. The church flourished, and the congregation, with many families from the community, continued to grow. It was then, in 2002, that Pastor Thomas felt a change in the wind. He heard a call to relocate the church further south, and a powerful vision began to take shape. The Lord guided him to 5601 Mountain Creek Parkway, the current location, where the church stands tall today. This is a place of worship, but also a haven of support, offering a food pantry, a full-time daycare, and after school programs. Inside the church, you’ll find a vibrant community, united in their faith, and a sanctuary filled with the warmth of shared experiences. Today, Mountain View Church of God stands as a symbol of unwavering devotion, a place where the community finds strength, and where the spirit of hope continues to thrive.
