Mount Rose Baptist Church

In 1991 Mount Rose Missionary Baptist Church lacked a pastor. Pastor CC Robertson suggested Reverend Jeffery D Thomas Sr. The church heard many preachers. They chose Reverend Thomas. In April 1992 he became the 18th pastor. This was the church’s centennial year. Under his leadership membership grew. In 2004 Mount Rose MBC moved to 820 S Buckner. Apostle Jesse Smith appointed Pastor Thomas Bishop in 2005. He oversaw several churches internationally. Eminent domain forced another move. Sadly Bishop Thomas’s wife Karla died. The church relocated to 7151 Fieldview Lane. Bishop Thomas changed the name to Mount Rose Church. He believed anyone wanting to know Jesus was welcome. Mount Rose Church offers many ministries. There’s a Children’s Church a Christian Education program and a Culinary Ministry. Deacons and Deaconesses assist the pastor. A Drama Ministry brings biblical stories to life. The Gideon’s Army supports a building campaign. A Graphics and Printing Ministry creates church materials. A Hospitality Ministry welcomes visitors. Mime and Liturgical Dance ministries express faith through movement. A Man Power Hour offers support to men. The Media Ministry enhances worship services. Ministers assist in various areas. The Mission/Outreach Ministry helps the needy. The Music Ministry has five choirs. New Member Orientation helps integrate new members. The Nurses Ministry promotes wellness. A Prison Ministry serves incarcerated individuals. A Scholarship Ministry assists high school students. Security ensures safety. A Senior Ministry supports older adults. A Social Media Ministry spreads the gospel online. Transportation helps those without cars. Ushers and Sanctuary Servants assist during services. Finally a Women’s Ministry provides guidance to women. Mount Rose Church continues to grow and serve its community. It’s a place where the spirit of the Lord is and there is liberty.
