Mount Hermon Baptist Church

Pastor Aaron Ray, a man known for his boldness and vision, has been leading Mount Hermon Baptist Church since 2012. But the story of this church begins much earlier. It was 1968, a time of great change and upheaval, when Mount Hermon Baptist Church was first established. Thirty-nine souls came together, their hearts set on creating a beacon of faith in Fort Worth. They found a temporary home at Mount Sinai Missionary Baptist Church, their spirits undeterred by the need for a permanent sanctuary. On July 14th, 1968, the congregation held its first service at 4150 E. Rosedale Street, its spiritual home ever since. Under the guidance of Reverend Dr. S.T. Alexander, the Mount Hermon Baptist Church began to grow. However, tragedy struck in 1973 when Reverend Alexander passed away. This loss was deeply felt by the congregation. Yet, their faith remained undimmed. New pastors came, each leaving their mark on the church. From the renovations overseen by Rev. Dr. H.R. King to the technological advancements introduced under Rev. I.S. Moreland, Mount Hermon Baptist Church continued to evolve. The physical church saw incredible transformations. The sanctuary, bathrooms, fellowship hall, and kitchen were all renovated. But the true spirit of Mount Hermon Baptist Church lies not just within its walls, but in the community it serves. Under Pastor Ray’s leadership, the church has deepened its roots in Fort Worth. Through partnerships with organizations like Texas Wesleyan University and the creation of outreach programs like the Mount Hermon Helping Hands Food Pantry, the church is a testament to the power of faith in action. The journey of Mount Hermon Baptist Church is a testament to the enduring power of faith and community. It reminds us that even in the face of loss and change, the spirit of hope and service can thrive.
