How about a place where community and faith intertwine? That is Mount Albert Presbyterian Church. It stands as a testament to enduring values in Auckland. Welcome!

This church is more than bricks and mortar. It is a spiritual home. Its story is woven into the fabric of Mount Albert.

In 1913, a Presbyterian businessman, J. C. Entrican, offered a corner site for a church. But in 1922, the location changed to its current spot. The land was purchased from George Fowlds. He was a former Government minister.

The move created problems for the Mount Albert Gymnasium Club. The club had met in the former church. It was forced to find new accommodations. The original site was sold to Hellaby’s butchers. They built the building that now houses Goodwin’s letting agents.

Mount Albert Presbyterian Church is a friendly, multi-ethnic community. It seeks to make Jesus known. It serves the local community and greater Auckland. If you are passing by, you are welcome to join the gatherings at 14 Mount Albert Road.

Weekly Sunday services occur at 10 am. The organ leads most worship sessions. All are welcome. Family services also start at 10 am. They are held on the fourth Sunday of each month. Church members contribute to the service. They use their gifts. The worship band leads the music in these family services. Other members lead prayers.

Holy Communion services are special. They take place on the first Sunday of specific months. These months are January, February, April, June, August, October, and December. The service starts at 10 am. All are welcome to participate.

The church also collaborates with the local Methodist Church. Together, they host the annual Easter Dawn Service. It is held on Mount Albert Owairaka. The service begins half an hour before sunrise. Attendees enjoy the sunrise. Then, they head to the church hall for a warm breakfast.

Another highlight is the annual Children’s Service. It usually occurs on the fourth Sunday of July. The children lead the entire service. They present dramas, memory verses, and songs. They also lead prayers and music.

Imagine the sounds of hymns filling the air. Picture children’s laughter during the annual service. Feel the warmth of the community during the Easter breakfast. Mount Albert Presbyterian Church is not just a place of worship. It is a vibrant, living part of Mount Albert. It is a place where everyone is welcome. It is a place where faith comes alive.
