“Abencoar Itapolis, o Brasil e o mundo.” This is the motto of Missão Batista Reviver. The church’s history began in 1970. Pastor Antenor Lourenço and his wife Maria de Arruda Lourenço led a service. It was held in the home of Lurdes Bardelote. Services were also held in the home of Valdomiro and Lurdes Oliveira.
In the early 1970s construction began on the church’s temple. Today it is enlarged and completely renovated. For 32 years the church was a congregation of Igreja Batista de Ibitinga. Pastor Antenor Lourenço led it. Several pastors served this congregation.
On May 30 2002 Pastor Antenor Lourenço emancipated the congregation. It became a church with registration in the CNPJ. Pastor Jair Gouvea was the founding president.
At first the church was called Igreja Evangélica Batista. On December 3 2006 it was renamed Igreja Evangélica Batista Reviver. Now it is known as Missão Batista Reviver.
To the glory of God Missão Batista Reviver has made history in Itápolis. It is a blessing to the lives of people in this city. The purpose is to “bless Itápolis, Brazil and the world”. This is their motto and they will always go in this direction.
The entire work of Missão Batista Reviver in Itápolis aims to spread the gospel. It seeks to bless Itápolis Brazil and the world. The church honors the name of Christ Jesus and Christian principles above all else. They developed their site to reach lives through what God has given.
Missão Batista Reviver is connected to the Convenção Batista Nacional CBN. They are also part of the Associação das Igrejas Batistas Centro Interior do Estado de São Paulo. Pastor Jair Gouvea serves as vice-president in this association.
Missão Batista Reviver maintains a missions department. This department develops missionary projects. Through this department they have created ways to evangelize locally nationally and globally. The church was anointed by God to “bless Itápolis Brazil and the World”.
The church contributes to CBN missionary projects. It is open to assist missionary works that align with the Reviver Baptist vision. Their objective is to fulfill the Lord’s command. They rely on financial contributions and prayers from Christians. This helps them save lives wherever possible.
Another Missão Reviver project was launched in Sergipe in the 2000s by Reverend Virginio de Carvalho Neto. Missão Reviver consists of a project with the vision not only of sending missionaries. It also supports them through the care of the Assembleia de Deus Church in the State of Sergipe for them.
They are present on several continents. Many people have been reached. For example children in Burkina Faso receive the African Children’s Christmas every year. This is idealized by MISSÃO REVIVER. It is embraced by their people. Missionary Virgínio de Carvalho and his wife Missionary Rosa Angélica along with the missionaries who are there carry out this tradition.
The Reverend Virgínio de Carvalho Neto through MISSÃO REVIVER has been holding the Missionaries Meeting on the African continent. The objective is to encourage them assist the missionaries and also train them more and more to improve the work developed by them.
Like a lighthouse its light shines from afar giving a sign of a place of refuge for missionaries. Many of them without hope found in MISSÃO REVIVER the possibility of continuing to live Christ’s calling.
