Can a church have two beginnings? For Ministerio Cielos Abiertos, the answer is a resounding yes. Our story begins not once, but twice. First in 1989, within the walls of another ministry, Adonai. Here, the future founders of Ministerio Cielos Abiertos, Pastors Leonel and Esther Mateo, nurtured their ministerial calling. After ten years of growth and learning, a divine separation led them to a period of prayerful waiting. Then, at the close of 1999, guided by prayer and consultation with Bishop Dr. Kittim Silva, the Mateo’s embraced their new path. Ministerio Cielos Abiertos was born. Initially, small gatherings filled their apartment, a testament to the growing congregation. The need for more space soon became apparent. Ministerio Cielos Abiertos moved, facing struggles and challenges along the way. Yet, the pastors recognized God’s hand in their journey. “The Lord has been our helper,” they proclaimed, echoing the unwavering faith that carried them through. Today, Ministerio Cielos Abiertos thrives. It offers a variety of ministries catering to men, women, youth, and children. The women’s ministry fosters connection with God and each other through scripture study and fellowship. The youth ministry seeks to ignite a passion for Christ. It provides guidance and encourages young people to use their gifts for God. Meanwhile, the men’s ministry focuses on connecting men with God and fostering holiness. Finally, the children’s ministry at Ministerio Cielos Abiertos provides engaging Bible lessons through crafts and memorization. Each ministry plays a vital role in the vibrant tapestry of this church with two beginnings.
