Gazing up at Mina Tenjin, imagine its previous life as North Tenjin. This isn’t just a shopping mall. It’s a phoenix, reborn from a full renovation in August of last year and reopened in April 2023. Mina Tenjin is more than just a retail space. It’s a key part of Fukuoka City’s ambitious Tenjin Big Bang redevelopment project. This project is reshaping the entire Tenjin district, even reaching the nearby Fukuoka Central Post Office and Aeon Shoppers Fukuoka over the next ten years. Mina Tenjin now stands tall with its sleek, modern glass-paneled walls, spanning three floors. The renovated structure seamlessly integrates with the former North Tenjin, creating a massive shopping haven with over 20,000 square meters of retail space. This space houses 32 stores, from the basement level up to the eighth floor. Among these are 14 brand-new tenants. Some are making their grand debut in Fukuoka, while others boast the largest presence in the entire Kyushu region. Fashion giants like UNIQLO and its sister brand, GU, dominate Mina Tenjin. UNIQLO occupies the first and second floors, showcasing the widest array of products and the largest sales floor in Kyushu. It even offers a unique clothing remake service with exclusive Hakata-ori embroidery, a special touch for the Tenjin store. GU takes over the upper floors with its own expansive store, introducing Kyushu to its personalized styling service, “OshaLista.” Mina Tenjin also houses a relocated Tenjin Loft on the fourth floor, now more convenient and shopper-friendly on a single floor. Even coffee lovers have something to celebrate. ONCA COFFEE, a new venture by eyewear retailer JINS, makes its west Japan debut here. Mina Tenjin’s reopening has injected new energy into the northern part of Tenjin. It’s not just a shopping destination. It’s a symbol of Fukuoka’s urban transformation, a blend of the familiar and the brand new, constantly evolving with the city around it.
