In 1986, a seed of faith was planted in Bukit Batok. This seed, nurtured by Reverend Lorna Khoo, would eventually blossom into the Methodist Church of the Incarnation. The Trinity Annual Conference of the Methodist Church in Singapore saw the potential for a vibrant community of faith in this area. Reverend Khoo began her ministry, modeled after Jesus himself, with simple home Bible studies. These gatherings became the heart of the Methodist Church of the Incarnation, fostering a spirit of togetherness and spiritual growth. Soon, these small groups grew into weekly Sunday Worship Services and Sunday Schools. By 1989, the Methodist Church of the Incarnation had already welcomed 30 members into its fold. The church continued to thrive, and on January 12, 1992, a significant milestone was reached. The Methodist Church of the Incarnation officially became a Local Conference. The church had found its permanent home on Teck Whye Lane in Chua Chu Kang. The building was completed and consecrated on January 8, 1995, by Bishop Ho Chee Sin. The Methodist Church of the Incarnation’s story didn’t end there. The church launched a kindergarten in 1996, further extending its reach into the community. That same year, a Mandarin service was added, reflecting the diverse tapestry of the congregation. By September 1999, membership had grown to 266. The church expanded its physical space with a two-level addition to its administrative block, a testament to its growing influence and the dedication of its members. The Methodist Church of the Incarnation stands today as a testament to the power of faith and community. It’s a place where people from all walks of life come together to worship, learn, and grow.
