From humble beginnings in 1930 a small mosque stood by Jalan Raya Pasar Minggu. This was the seed that grew into the magnificent Mesjid At Taqwa. It served the Muslim community of Pejaten Barat and Pejaten Timur. As the congregation expanded local residents generously donated land. In 1997 the larger Masjid Raya At Taqwa opened. Governor Soerjadi Soedirja presided over the grand opening. For twenty-five years Mesjid At Taqwa has been a beacon of faith. The DKM Masjid Raya At Taqwa continues its vital role. It serves the religious needs of the community. It manages the mosque fulfilling its ideal function. The mosque’s expansion demonstrates the growing faith and generosity of its community. It showcases the importance of collective effort and unwavering devotion. The mosque stands as a testament to the enduring spirit of Islam in Jakarta.
