Founded in 1992 the Mennoniten-Brüdergemeinde Weingarten e V stands before you. Its story begins not in Weingarten but in Stutensee. Imagine a small group of German Christians. They had recently immigrated from the former Soviet Union. These Aussiedler found themselves seeking a place of worship. They initially met in various locations in Friedrichstal. Their Bible studies took place in a building belonging to the AB-Verband in Stutensee-Staffort.
For a time they gathered in the Blankenloch-Stutensee cemetery chapel. As their numbers grew the need for a larger space became evident. The dream of a dedicated meeting house took root. Finally a suitable plot of land was found in Weingarten Baden on Kehrwiesen street. The construction took approximately two years. In 2002 the Mennoniten-Brüdergemeinde Weingarten e V moved into its present building. This marked their official integration into the local community.
Today the Mennoniten-Brüdergemeinde Weingarten e V is a vibrant and diverse congregation. It embraces people from various backgrounds. While the services are in German translation is provided. Headsets offer Russian translation. English and Spanish translations are also available upon request. The congregation’s activities are wide-ranging. They include weekly children’s programs regular Sunday services. Youth events and lectures share the message of love.
