The St. Vincenz Kirche is Menden’s biggest church. It was founded in 1345. The church stands near the old city hall. Parts of Menden’s old city defense remain. Three towers and a piece of the city wall can still be seen.

Menden is twinned with several towns. These include Aire-sur-la-Lys in France and Braine-l’Alleud in Belgium. It also has partnerships with Flintshire in Wales and Plungė in Lithuania. Eisenberg in Germany is also a twin town. Menden maintains friendly relations with Chalcis in Greece since 2000.
