Upon entering Jalan Lodan Raya you’ll find Masjid Suhada. This Jakarta mosque stands as a testament to faith and community. Its story begins in 1961. Alm H Gateng bin Saumin generously donated land. This wakaf a sacred trust formed the foundation of Masjid Suhada.

The initial structure was modest. It occupied approximately 432 square meters. However the congregation’s growth spurred expansion. In 1997 additional land was purchased. The mosque’s footprint increased to roughly 1125 square meters.

Construction continued in phases. By 2008 the second phase of development was underway. The mosque’s area expanded further to 1217 square meters. Physical construction commenced on January 17 2009.

The impressive three-story building you see today was completed in November 2010. It boasts approximately 1500 square meters of floor space. The ground floor serves as an assembly hall. The second floor is the main prayer area. The third floor accommodates Friday prayers and the Ruhul Syuhada Madrasah Diniyah.

A crucial moment arrived in 2001. The land and building were officially wakfed by the Syuhada Foundation. This transfer of ownership to Masjid Suhada was legally registered. The mosque now operates under its own constitution and bylaws. These documents guide its management and ensure its continued prosperity. Masjid Suhada’s story is one of growth community dedication and enduring faith. It is more than a place of worship.
