Built in 1980 Masjid Nurul Fallah stands proudly in Jakarta. Its initial structure covered 500 square meters on a 1000 square meter plot of land. This humble beginning in Rusun Petamburan Jalan Administrasi 1 Jakarta Pusat belies its significant role in the community.

Initially a small langgar a place of prayer and education Masjid Nurul Fallah evolved. It served not only as a religious center but also as a haven during Indonesia’s struggle for independence. The langgar’s transformation into a full-fledged mosque occurred in 1952. It gained its current name Masjid Jami’ Nurul Fallah in the 1960s thanks to Ustaz Achmad Nairan.

Significant renovations took place in 1971 and again in 1984. The latter renovation involved a complete overhaul. Two local architects Both Soedargo and Taufik designed the modern structure we see today. Their work concluded in 1986 with the official opening by Minister Sekretaris Negara Sudharmono.

The mosque’s expansion continues. A new two-story building is under construction adding approximately 300 more prayer spaces. This demonstrates the enduring importance of Masjid Nurul Fallah to the community. It serves as a testament to faith resilience and community spirit. This mosque is much more than just a place of worship. It’s a living symbol of Jakarta’s history. It’s a place where community bonds are strengthened. It embodies the enduring spirit of Indonesia.
