Beneath Jakarta’s expansive sky lies MASJID NUR AINI. It is more than a place of worship. It represents a heartfelt gift to a community.
MASJID NUR AINI was founded by Nur’aini Soeprapto. She is the founder of TIKI and JNE. The mosque’s inauguration coincided with her 80th birthday on October 6, 2024. This reflects a deep connection to her roots in Bangka Belitung.
The mosque is located in Kurau Barat. It stands on 2,362 square meters of land. The two-story building covers 970 square meters. Its architecture blends modern and classic styles. White exteriors and Moroccan-inspired calligraphy create a serene atmosphere.
Nur’aini’s childhood memories influenced the mosque’s location. She fondly recalled watching the lives of fishermen in Kurau Barat. She also believed in the community’s commitment to maintaining public spaces like mosques. This conviction solidified her decision to build MASJID NUR AINI there.
The mosque’s design is by Raul Renanda Amrul. He is an Indonesian designer and architect. He also designed Teater Jakarta in Taman Ismail Marzuki. The interior features a beautiful chandelier. It was crafted by artisans from Boyolali.
MASJID NUR AINI aims for a feminine and warm ambiance. This contrasts with the more masculine design of Masjid Jami’ Soeprapto Soeparno. That mosque was previously built by Nur’aini’s family in 2021.
The opening ceremony included a welcome pantun by Cik Kario. Sugito, the PJ Governor of Bangka Belitung, also spoke. Ustaz Hilman Fauzi delivered a tausiyah. He emphasized the mosque’s role in facilitating grace and happiness. Nur’aini Soeprapto and her family then cut the ribbon and signed a plaque.
Mohamad Feriadi Soeprapto, President Director of JNE, views MASJID NUR AINI as a family commitment. They want to give back to the Bangka Belitung community. This aligns with the philosophy of the late Soeprapto Soeparno. It is about sharing, giving, and caring. The hope is that the mosque will strengthen bonds and support religious activities. It will be a center for community benefit.
Yulina Hastuti, Director Utama of TIKI, believes in integrating business and social goals. This commitment has been upheld since TIKI’s founding. The values of care and social responsibility will be passed down through generations.
So as you stand before MASJID NUR AINI, remember its purpose. It is a beacon of faith. It is a testament to a family’s dedication to community and heritage. It’s a place where tradition and modernity meet. It provides solace and inspiration for all who enter its doors.
