Did you know that Masjid Jami At-Taqwa is also known as Masjid Senayan because of its proximity to that area? This old and grand mosque stands strong in South Jakarta. It is located on Jalan Sriwijaya Raya number 10 Kebayoran Baru. The surrounding greenery adds to its peaceful atmosphere.

Masjid Jami At-Taqwa was established in 1920. It sits on land donated by H Yusuf bin Gede Ali. In 1952 the government rebuilt the mosque on a 1260 square meter plot. Over time the mosque expanded. It now covers 2173 square meters with a total land area of 3000 square meters. This includes a multipurpose hall of 1000 square meters.

The mosque is managed by the Yayasan Masjid Jami At-Taqwa Sriwijaya. H Abdul Aziz Marzuki oversaw the mosque. He was also the grandson of H Yusuf bin Gede Ali.

The first stone for the expansion was laid on December 8 1989. The mosque’s completion was inaugurated on February 28 1992. The Vice President of Indonesia at the time H Soedharmono did the honors.

Vice President Ma’ruf Amin has spoken at Masjid At-Taqwa Sriwijaya. He mentioned that Abdul Aziz Marzuki valued the community. He chose to donate his land to Allah instead of selling it for profit.

Ali Marzuki is the Chairman of the Masjid At-Taqwa Sriwijaya Foundation. He mentioned the plan to develop a sharia-based AI center in the mosque’s hall. This initiative aims to attract young people. It also ensures they keep up with the digital age.

The mosque’s architecture reflects the pillars of Islam. It features a six-sided design representing the six pillars of faith. The mosque combines traditional and modern architectural styles. Solid wood carvings adorn the doors and windows.

Masjid At-Taqwa is in a strategic location. It is surrounded by offices and commercial centers. This makes it a convenient place for workers to pray or rest. The cool breeze adds to the comfort of the mosque.

The mosque has a tall minaret at the front. This adds to its impressive appearance. The At-Taqwa Sriwijaya Mosque continues to evolve. It serves as a center for worship community and learning.
