“A place showered with blessings.” That is the meaning of Al-Mubarokah. We stand before Masjid Jami Al-Mubarokah. This mosque offers more than just a place for prayer. It serves as a spiritual center for the Muslim community.
Masjid Al-Mubarokah stands as a testament to transformation. It symbolizes hope. It strengthens harmonious relationships. It promotes mutual respect.
Once, this area was associated with prostitution. Now, it is a place of worship. The community yearned for a mosque here. They envisioned a space for prayer and community gatherings. Masjid Jami Al-Mubarokah became that reality.
The groundbreaking ceremony occurred in February 2017. Basuki Tjahaja Purnama known as Ahok, then Governor of Jakarta, officiated the event.
The mosque features a modern tropical pendopo architectural design. Green gardens surround the mosque. It creates an Islamic atmosphere blended with Betawi culture.
Masjid Al-Mubarokah has two floors. The ground floor serves as a space for community events. The walls feature transparent brickwork. This design echoes the “breezing wall” found in traditional Betawi houses. The roof is an asymmetrical limasan. It slopes downwards towards the Qibla. This design mimics the posture of someone prostrating in prayer.
Masjid Al-Mubarokah is a house of Allah. It fulfills vital roles for Muslims worldwide. The primary function of any mosque is as a place of worship. Muslims gather here for prayer. This includes both obligatory and voluntary prayers.
The mosque also provides refuge during disasters. Muslims feel safe and at peace within its walls. Allah guides those who maintain and care for mosques.
