“Ever wonder where faith takes root and blossoms?” Here before us stands Masjid Jami Al-Khoiriyah. It is a testament to community spirit and enduring faith. Let’s uncover its story.

Masjid Jami Al-Khoiriyah began humbly. It started before Indonesia’s independence. Jenan, a local resident, donated his land. This was in what is now Soekarno-Hatta Airport. It was originally unnamed. This marked the humble beginning of a cherished place of worship.

Around 1955, the mosque underwent its first renovation. Jamaah members joined in this effort. Sadly, Jenan passed away during this time. His son, H. Martha, along with religious figures like H. Ibun, took over. They guided the mosque’s development.

The mosque served more than just prayer. H. Ibun taught the Quran here. In 1979, fate intervened. The area was needed for Soekarno-Hatta Airport. The mosque had to relocate. It was then that H. Ibun named it Al-Khoiriyah.

The community rallied again. Figures like H. Zen and others helped rebuild it. They rebuilt Masjid Jami Al-Khoiriyah in its current location. This marked a new chapter.

In 2003, H. Ibun passed away. H. Rohim became the DKM chairman. The mosque flourished under his leadership. Its structure became grander. Youth activities thrived with religious studies and celebrations.

H. Rohim passed away in March 2024. An election followed in April 2024. Muhammad Ali was elected as chairman. The new administration created the mosque’s constitution. They set its vision to prosper the community.

Masjid Jami Al-Khoiriyah aimed to be a center for all. It strived to be a house of worship and community. Its motto? “From the Mosque to Prosper the People.”

Look closely at Masjid Jami Al-Khoiriyah. It is more than bricks and mortar. It is a living story of faith, community and resilience. It reflects the spirit of Jurumudi Pajang. It shows how a simple act of faith can create a legacy.
