“Imagine Jenan an asli Pajang man standing right where Masjid Jami Al Khoiriyah stands today.” He likely didn’t foresee the mosque’s future. This sacred space began humbly before Indonesia’s independence.

Masjid Jami Al Khoiriyah wasn’t always called that. It simply existed as a place of prayer on Jenan’s land. This location was once at Pos 1 Pajang. Now it is part of Soekarno Hatta Airport’s grounds.

Around 1955 the community renovated the mosque. This marked the second construction phase. Sadly Jenan passed away during this time. His son H Martha and religious figures like H Ibun took over.

H Ibun used the mosque not only for prayer. He also taught people to recite the Quran. But change was on the horizon.

In 1979 the area faced demolition for the airport’s expansion. The mosque had to move. H Ibun gave it a new name Al-Khoiriyah. This translates to “The Good”.

The community rallied to rebuild Masjid Jami Al Khoiriyah. People like H Zen and others contributed. This new structure became a focal point.

H Ibun passed away in 2003. H Rohim became the chairman. With Zakwan as secretary and H Zen as treasurer Masjid Al Khoiriyah flourished. Its structure improved significantly. The youth actively organized events. Weekly recitations and Islamic holiday celebrations thrived.

In March 2024 H Rohim passed away. An election in April 2024 appointed Muhammad Ali as chairman. Abd Rahman became vice-chairman. Muslim is now the secretary and M Yazid Al Bustommy the treasurer. This new team created the mosque’s first statutes and management system.

Masjid Jami Al Khoiriyah strives to be more than a prayer space. Its vision is a prosperous community blessed by Allah. Its mission involves making the mosque a community hub. They aim to create a Baitullah a Baitul Quran a Baitul Mall and a Baitul Muamalah. Their motto is “From the Mosque to Prosper the People”.

Masjid Jami Al Khoiriyah embodies community spirit and faith. It has grown from a simple prayer space to a vital center. The mosque preserves its history while embracing the future. Its story reflects resilience. It shows dedication to faith and community. As you stand here remember its humble start and inspiring journey.
