This makes it a standout among mosques, which often feature Middle Eastern or Islamic calligraphy. The exterior of Masjid Jami’ Al-Ishlah is a vibrant display of Lampung artistry. From the walls and minaret to the ablution area, the mosque is adorned with traditional Lampung motifs. A striking purplish-red hue dominates the building. Eight pillars, reaching two stories high, support the structure. Carvings of Lampung ornaments, such as bamboo shoots, traditional boats (jukung), and wedding umbrellas, adorn the mosque. These symbols are integrated throughout the building. They grace the walls, the ablution area, the roof, and even the supporting pillars. Masjid Jami’ Al-Ishlah stands 13 meters tall, with a minaret reaching 18 meters. The mosque is a pioneer in incorporating Lampung ornamentation into its design. During Ramadan, the Masjid Jami’ Al-Ishlah becomes a hub of activity. It hosts Quran recitation sessions, women’s study groups, communal breaking of the fast, and other events.
