Masjid Jami Al-Ikhlashiyah

A mosque’s journey began not in the bustling city of Jakarta, but in the quieter streets of Pedurenan, South Jakarta. This is the story of Masjid Jami Al-Ikhlashiyah. Originally a waqf, a charitable endowment, from Raibah and later Hj. Sitinah, the mosque found its new home on Jalan Usman in Kelapa Dua Wetan, Ciracas, East Jakarta. Masjid Jami Al-Ikhlashiyah’s foundation was laid on March 9, 1996, a date corresponding to the 19th of Syawal 1416 H in the Islamic calendar. Just a few months later, on June 22, 1996, which coincided with 6 Shafar 1417 H, the mosque was officially inaugurated by the then-Camat (district head) of Ciracas, Endjang Abdullah. From its humble beginnings, Masjid Jami Al-Ikhlashiyah has continually evolved. It has seen numerous improvements in its infrastructure, facilities, and community activities. The mosque’s website, al-ikhlash04kdw.com, describes it as more than just a place of worship. It serves as a community hub, fostering social well-being and order through religious studies. The mosque also plays a role in promoting interfaith harmony within Indonesia’s diverse society. Masjid Jami Al-Ikhlashiyah strives to be a “Masjid yang Memakmurkan dan Dimakmurkan Masjid,” a mosque that prospers and brings prosperity to its community. The leadership of the mosque has also transitioned over the years. From Ustadz H. Ahmad Sanusi in 1996 to Ustadz Mukhtar, S.Pd.I until 2020, and now under the guidance of Ustadz Suheli, S.Pd.I, the mosque continues its mission of serving the community. Masjid Jami Al-Ikhlashiyah stands as a testament to the enduring spirit of faith and community.
