Amidst Cipete’s community spirit, a sacred space arose. That space is Masjid Jami Al Ihlas. It stands as a testament to unity and devotion. Let’s explore its origins.

In 1967, leaders from housing complexes in Cipete sought to establish a mosque. They envisioned a center for Islamic propagation. These complexes included PDK and Kehakiman. Others were Sekneg, Panca Niaga, Perdatam, Indomarin, and Hasta Griya. Local figures also joined. Their aim was a grand mosque. This would serve as a center for communal prayers and Islamic teachings.

The noble intention to build a mosque grew stronger. It became a place for prayer and religious activities. This vision was fueled by the strong resolve of 35 founding figures. H.D. Dachlan recalled their tireless door-to-door efforts. The Cipete community welcomed the idea. H.MA. Husein noted the concept of Mushala Al Ihklas emerged during Tarawih prayers. These prayers were conducted in different homes.

Nine years later, YMAI’s historical milestone arrived. The small prayer room evolved into Masjid Al Ikhlas. Construction spanned from 1976 to 1979. The community built the Masjid Jami Al Ihlas with contributions from benefactors. Donors and worshipers rallied under Buya H. Amirudin Siregar. He led YMAI from 1975 to 1987.

The founders of Yayasan Masjid Al Ikhlas numbered 35. Their names are recorded in YMAI’s Establishment Deed. The list includes Tuan Haji Ibrahim and Nyonya Soengkono. Also included are Nyonya Karim Halim and Nyonya Sjahbuddin. The founders also include Nyonya Harris and Nyonya S. Jasin.

Yayasan Masjid Al Ikhlas was established on April 11, 1967. Notary R. Soerojo Wongsowidjojo formalized it. The deed number is 24, dated July 31, 1967. Amendments occurred over time. The latest revision is under Notary Ny. Nur Sasono. Deed number 04, dated July 30, 2004, captures these changes. The latest statutes were decided on September 9, 2007. This happened during a YMAI Board of Trustees meeting.
