Could a humble prayer space built of bamboo evolve into a symbol of community strength? Here at Masjid Darul Mu’minin, that very transformation unfolded. Masjid Darul Mu’minin, tucked away on Jalan Bangka Raya Gang Amal 3, stands as a testament to the enduring spirit of the local community. Originally built in 1997, the Masjid Darul Mu’minin began its life as a simple structure. Its walls were woven from bamboo, wood, and plywood, earning it the affectionate nickname, the “bamboo mosque.” It served as a gathering place for the residents of RT 013/RW 05 and the surrounding area. The community poured their hearts into building and maintaining their beloved mosque. They came together for prayers, celebrated religious holidays, and hosted ta’lim sessions. They even established a Taman Pendidikan Al-Quran, a place where children could learn and grow in their faith. In 2018, Masjid Darul Mu’minin underwent a significant transformation. The bamboo and wood gave way to more permanent materials like hebel, sand, and cement. The renovation modernized the structure. However, it didn’t change the heart of the mosque. Masjid Darul Mu’minin remained a vital hub for the community, a place where their shared faith and collective efforts intertwine. The vision of Masjid Darul Mu’minin is to nurture a community, inspired by the Prophet Muhammad, centered around faith and community activities. Its mission is ambitious. It aims to be the heart of community life, a vibrant center for worship, a sanctuary for spiritual reflection, a trusted source of guidance, and a place of learning for all ages. This dedication is captured in their motto: “From the mosque, building a prophetic community.” The Masjid Darul Mu’minin holds official recognition. It’s registered with the Indonesian Mosque Council (DMI) of DKI Jakarta under number MUSHOLLA-JS20-0247. It also holds decree number S.Kep-5109/MUSHOLLA/DMI-DKI/IV/2020 from the DMI DKI Jakarta. Masjid Darul Mu’minin is more than just bricks and mortar. It’s a living testament to the power of community, faith, and the enduring spirit of togetherness.
