The limasan roof speaks of Javanese tradition. The open-air design and ornate details beneath the roof hint at Betawi influences. It’s a space designed for airflow. The Jakarta heat is tempered by the breezy design. A lush garden surrounds it. Mango jambu and sawo trees offer shade. This is an oasis of calm.
Imagine the first Friday prayers. A single worshipper arrived. Four cleaning staff prepared the mosque. They were polishing the marble floors. They laid out the deep green prayer carpets.
