Deep within Cilandak Timur, stands Masjid Bi’syar At Taqwa. This mosque began as a small place of worship. It served the Muslim community of Pejaten Barat and Pejaten Timur. That was in 1930.
Over time, the community grew. Some people donated their land. They wanted a bigger mosque. So, in 1997, Masjid Raya At-Taqwa was built. The Governor of Jakarta at that time, Soerjadi Soedirja, opened it.
For 25 years, the DKM Masjid Raya At-Taqwa has served the community. They manage the mosque. They provide a place for worship. They fulfill the needs of the people.
The DKM Masjid Raya At-Taqwa has a vision. They want to be a model mosque. They want to serve Muslims with love. They want to be professional. They want to be responsible and open.
The mosque is a confined masonry structure. Its walls are made of brick. The roof is tiled. The floors are ceramics. It is in good condition. About 50 to 100 people can fit inside.
The building has one level. It is a place for Muslims to pray. It is open 24/7.
The mosque also focuses on helping those in need. They distribute zakat to those who deserve it. They use non-zakat donations to improve the mosque. This makes it better for everyone.
