The building is substantial. It houses three levels. The basement which can hold 400 worshippers is primarily used by women. The main prayer hall on the ground floor is spacious. It can accommodate 3000 worshippers. Rows of neatly arranged Qur’ans line the walls. Soft carpets adorn the space near the mimbar.
The mezzanine level with capacity for 545 people provides a majestic view. One can look down at the main hall. Or gaze upward at the dome’s intricate symmetrical carvings. The exterior is dominated by gray marble. This is enhanced by vertical lines symbolizing the connection between humanity and God. Horizontal lines denote the equality among people.
Even the doors are special. They are made of bronze. They are intricately carved with floral motifs. The name of Allah is inscribed on the top right. The name of Muhammad graces the top left. The bronze doors are framed by an arched lattice. This creates a transparent gateway to worship.
The dome is striking. It’s covered in blue and cream geometric patterned tiles. This visual dominance adds to the mosque’s grandeur. Inside the main prayer hall is impressive. Gray ceramics dominate the floors and walls. The air conditioning adds to the comfort.
