Whispers of history echo within these walls. We are standing before Masjid At-Thaibah. This mosque began as a humble Mushollah founded by Bapak H. Nasir. After Bapak H. Nasir passed away his son H Dachlan continued his work. Syech Hamid from Cirebon was their teacher.

H Dachlan’s granddaughter Ust.Hj.Zuhriyah Dahlan and Bapak H.Dalim Saiyan expanded the Mushollah. They built a new mosque. Bapak H.Dalim Saiyan donated land and buildings. In 1972 Masjid Al-Barkah officially stood. Jenderal Darman inaugurated it. He was the Director General of Immigration of Indonesia at that time.

In 1973 Habib Sholeh Tanggul visited Masjid Al-Barkah twice. He suggested changing the name to Masjid At-Thaibah. Bapak H.Dalim Saiyan agreed. That year Masjid Al-Barkah officially became Masjid Jami’ At-Thaibah.

Habib Sholeh Tanggul also suggested replacing the drum bedug. The original bedug was made from a drum with goatskin. He wanted a bedug made from a whole teak tree trunk. The inside should be hollowed out. It should use cowhide. He ordered it through a student in Jepara. The bedug is still in Masjid At-Thaibah. It stands as a historical artifact.

Many important figures have visited Masjid At-Thaibah. Bapak H. DR Mohammad Hatta the Vice President of Indonesia came. Bapak Jenderal Darman the Director General of Immigration of Indonesia visited. KH Zainuddin MZ and KH Ahmad Shodri al wasthoniyah were also visitors.

Bapak H Sodri and Bapak H Hamdani Nasir served as Imam Rawatib. Bapak H Gadul and Bapak H Asmawi Nasir also served. Bapak Amat was the Marbot.

K.H. Mursidi Klender taught every Sunday night since 1973. He continued until he died in 2003. After his death different teachers filled the role. Now Ust. H. Nurul Huda Kholid manages the male study group.

After the founders died their descendants managed Masjid At-Thaibah. Ust.Hj.Zuhriyah Dahlan died in 1978. Bapak H. Dalim Saiyan died in 1986. Bapak H. Muchtar Zubair served as Imam Rawatib. Bapak H. Muhalih Zubair was once the Daily Chairman. Bapak H. Hasanudin Dahlan also served as Daily Chairman. Bapak H. Amrullah Dalim was the General Chairman. Bapak Saiful Dalim and Bapak H.Yusuf Dahlan helped. Bapak H Maruloh was the Marbot.

Ust Hj. Umihani Dalim continues her mother’s work. She leads the Majelis Taklim for women. Ust Hj DR Suryani Tohir teaches there. Ust Hj. DR Tuty Alawiyah Syafi’i and Ust. Hj Nur Aini Mansyur also teach. Ust Hj. Mardiyah and Ust Hj. Ma’wah are also teachers.
