It’s a modern tale of a growing community’s need for a larger place of worship. The old mushola, nestled in the heart of Pasar Minggu, could no longer accommodate the burgeoning congregation. Wali Kota Administrasi Jakarta Selatan, Tri Kurniadi, laid the first stone for Masjid Ar-Ridho in June 2018. The location, within the grounds of the Pasar Minggu subdistrict office, underscored its importance to the community. This new mosque was not just about bricks and mortar. It was about building a stronger community. It aimed to enrich the spiritual lives of its members. The construction was a community effort, funded not by government coffers, but by the generosity of the people. The target was an ambitious two-year timeline and a budget of around Rp 6 billion. Every brick laid represented a shared dream, a collective aspiration for a place where faith and community could flourish. Masjid Ar-Ridho’s design is modern and functional. The two-story structure covers approximately 1,000 square meters. The ground floor houses a basement and a multipurpose hall, doubling as a parking area. The second floor is dedicated to prayer, the heart of the mosque. Masjid Ar-Ridho serves as a reminder. It shows how faith can inspire collective action. It’s a place where prayers are answered, and community bonds are strengthened.
