Masjid Al-Musyawarah in Kelapa Gading Jakarta is more than just a mosque. It is a symbol of devotion. It is a hub for community life. The grand mosque’s construction began in 1991. Masjid Al-Musyawarah occupies a vast 2.2 hectares. Its building covers 16915 square meters. Its Javanese architectural style is unmistakable. The tiered pyramidal dome is characteristic of Javanese mosques. The spacious courtyard provides shade under its many trees. Two main structures stand out: the prayer hall and a multipurpose hall. A functional minaret rises in the northeast. Its simple design prioritizes its purpose: calling the faithful to prayer.
Inside the prayer hall. Soft red carpets cover the floor. They offer comfort and cleanliness. Polished marble pillars adorn the interior. They seem to support the dome. A clear separation exists for men and women worshippers. The interior is largely white echoing the exterior’s design. A skylight in the center bathes the space in natural light. Marble dominates the walls. Yet wood and glass are still present in windows and doors. Ornate calligraphy featuring asmaul husna and Quranic verses embellishes the upper walls. The mihrab is centrally located. Its simple design is functional. The wooden pulpit stands to its right.
