Then-Governor of Jakarta, H. Surjadi Soedirdja, inaugurated this house of worship. The mosque sits on a sprawling 5,505 square meters of land. Its creation was a response to the city’s plan, detailed in document number 2635/I-GSB/II/95 from 1995. The building permit, number 00559/IMB/1997, followed in 1997. Masjid Al-Fadillah was more than just a place of worship. It was envisioned as a “Center of Redutainment”. This meant it combined religious activities with education and entertainment.
