Marie Schrøder was born in Valore Denmark. She dedicated her life to bridging cultural gaps. She passionately promoted Esperanto. It is an international auxiliary language.

Her commitment led her to an early grave. Marie died on August 27 1909 in Switzerland. She was only 27 years old. She was on her way to a congress in Barcelona. There she was to represent Denmark.
