Maltepe Hasan Polat Stadyumu is named after Hasan Polat, the former president of the Turkish Football Federation and a renowned player for Gençlerbirliǧi S.K. In the 2008-2009 season, Maltepe Hasan Polat Stadyumu was closed for renovations. Then, frustratingly, it remained unusable during the 2009-2010 season due to issues with the grass.
