Several IETT buses pass through the edges of Malkoçoğlu Mahallesi. These buses connect the area to various parts of Istanbul. Routes include 36V Yayla Mahallesi to Vezneciler. Also, 79M Kayaşehir to Mecidiyeköy. Other routes are 78C Yunus Emre Mahallesi to Metrokent Metro and 78F Kayaşehir to Yenibosna Metro. Further routes are 36Y Taşoluk Peron to Yenikapı and 336 Arnavutköy to Eminönü. The 79C Kayaşehir to Cebeci Mahallesi route is also available.

In 2023, the population of Malkoçoğlu Mahallesi was 13,197. Malkoçoğlu, as a name, has deeper roots in Turkish history. The Malkoçoğlu family was famous in the 15th and 16th centuries. They led successful raids into Rumelia during the reigns of Fatih Sultan Mehmet and II. Beyazıt. The name also appears in comics and film series.
