The home features a distinctive low-pitch hip roof, intricate brackets, a recessed porch, and elaborate detailing. It remained in the Reed family until 1990 when it passed on to their daughter, Margaret, and her husband, Joseph Cocke. In 2006, the Malcolm and Margaret Badger Reed Estate Plaque was designated a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark. It’s a reminder of the legacy of this prominent family who contributed to the growth and prosperity of Austin.
