Opened in 2023, Madame Tussauds Budapest is a relatively new addition to the city. It’s the 24th Madame Tussauds in the world. The museum resides within the Palazzo Dorottya. This puts it right in the heart of Budapest. Madame Tussauds Budapest showcases 51 incredibly lifelike wax figures. Seventeen of these figures are unique to the Budapest location. They represent prominent Hungarian figures from history, culture, and sports. These Hungarian figures were created in secrecy at the Madame Tussauds studio near London. The Budapest public played a key role in selecting these figures. A survey was conducted to gauge public interest and preferences. This resulted in a diverse collection featuring historical figures, stars, athletes, and cultural icons. You can see figures like Harry Houdini, Katinka Hosszú, and King Stephen I. Madame Tussauds Budapest also boasts figures unique to this location. You’ll find Bud Spencer, Chuck Norris, and Peter Falk immortalized in wax here. Beyond the figures themselves, Madame Tussauds Budapest offers interactive screens. You can enjoy light and sound shows. Several exhibits draw inspiration from Budapest landmarks. After exploring, visitors can relax in the Cinema Café. The gift shop offers a chance to purchase a memento of your visit.
