Founded in 1995 the Lycée Français de Chicago emerged from the vision of French and American parents. They were supported by French businesses and the French Consul General.

The Lycée’s sports teams are known as the Flames. They compete in various sports. These include soccer basketball and volleyball. The school has a large soccer field with synthetic turf. It also has a full-sized gymnasium.
