“This building seems brand new,” you might be thinking. Well, you’re not far off. This is the Lycée Espagnol Luis Buñuel. It was completely rebuilt in the early 2000s. The Lycée Espagnol Luis Buñuel is a unique institution here in Paris. It’s directly attached to the Spanish Ministry of Education and the Spanish Embassy. Though considered a private school in France, the Lycée Espagnol Luis Buñuel actually follows both French and Spanish educational systems. Students here are immersed in a bilingual environment. They study everything from math to history in both languages. Imagine graduating with a dual French and Spanish diploma! This is made possible by the Bachibac program. It’s an international agreement between France and Spain. The Lycée Espagnol Luis Buñuel has a rich history. It was originally located in Paris’s 16th arrondissement. In the 1960s it moved to Neuilly-sur-Seine. The current building we stand before was inaugurated in 2006. It was a grand occasion graced by King Juan Carlos I and Queen Sofía of Spain!
