Founded in 1979 Loving Fellowship Baptist Church has a rich history. It began as Koinonia Baptist Church a group of families seeking a place of worship. They met in homes until finding a storefront in Duncanville. Rev Willie Pipkins was their first pastor. In 1981 Rev David Maxey led the church into a storefront on North Main Street.
The name changed to Loving Fellowship Baptist Church in 1984. This made it easier for people to understand and connect with. The church thrived seeing many new members and experiencing God’s blessings. In 1990 they moved to West Wheatland Road briefly changing their name to Loving Fellowship Christian Church. Later they returned to their original Baptist identity.
Rev Ocie Brisby became pastor in 1996. Sadly he passed away in 1999. Loving Fellowship then appointed Dr Michael D Sneed as their pastor. Under his leadership and that of his wife Dorothy the church grew significantly. They paid off their old building and constructed a new 23000 square foot worship center.
In 2013 they moved into their new building at 610 West Wintergreen Road DeSoto Texas. This impressive facility stands as a testament to the dedication and faith of the congregation. Today Loving Fellowship Baptist Church remains a vibrant and welcoming community. It offers many ministries and programs for all ages. The church continues to share the message of Jesus Christ. It provides a safe haven and support for those in need. Loving Fellowship Baptist Church truly lives up to its name.
