Did you know Lively Stone Church of God in Chicago has a rich history? It all started on September 24th. A meeting was called to form a Missionary Baptist Church. Twelve people attended including Founding Pastor William Jenkins Sr. They decided to name it Lively Stone. The church found its current home at 4938 W Chicago Ave in 1979. Various choirs were established enriching the congregation’s worship. Lively Stone thrived. In 2016 the church celebrated its 50th anniversary. They held a Gala and a special Sunday service. This wasn’t just a celebration it was a testament to the community it built. The church has faced challenges like the COVID-19 pandemic. They responded by holding a free mask giveaway for the Chicago community. This act of service showed their deep commitment to their neighbors. Lively Stone is more than a building. It is a vibrant community a place of faith and a beacon of hope in Chicago. Their dedication continues to this day. Every Sunday at 12 pm you can join them online or in person.
