Lipták’s journey began in his childhood. He pursued his passion. He studied at the School of Applied Arts in Košice. He later attended the University of Performing Arts in Bratislava. He specialized in scenography. Since 1986 he has worked with nearly every Slovak theater. He is well-known in Slovakia the Czech Republic and Poland. Since 1991 he has focused on film. He collaborated with director Martin Šulík. They worked on significant Slovak films of the 1990s. Lipták also founded the independent theater company Teatro Tatro in 1990.
