Atop this magnificent structure a breathtaking panorama unfolds. This is the LCL-Tour Part-Dieu.

Welcome to the LCL-Tour Part-Dieu one of Lyon’s most iconic landmarks. This skyscraper formerly known as the Tour du Crédit Lyonnais stands tall at 164.9 meters. It’s a striking presence on Lyon’s skyline. Completed in 1977 its design is the work of Araldo Cossutta & Associates.

The LCL-Tour Part-Dieu isn’t just a building. It’s a testament to architectural ambition. Its cylindrical shape crowned by a 23-meter-high pyramid is truly unique. This design wasn’t arbitrary. The architect deliberately aligned the tower’s top with the height of Notre Dame de Fourvière. A subtle nod to Lyon’s rich history.

When it opened the LCL-Tour Part-Dieu was the fourth tallest building in France. Today it holds the title of the tallest skyscraper outside the Ile-de-France region. It also holds another impressive title. The top ten floors house the Radisson Blu Hotel Lyon making it the highest hotel in Europe. The rest of the building offers premium office space.

Its nickname “The Pencil” perfectly captures its distinctive shape. This affectionate moniker has become an endearing part of its identity. The LCL-Tour Part-Dieu underwent a rebranding in 2008 officially adopting its current name. This name change included a new logo. The nickname however remained. It’s a testament to the tower’s place in the hearts of the people of Lyon.

More than just a hotel and office space the LCL-Tour Part-Dieu is a symbol of Lyon’s modern ambition. It is a bold statement in the urban landscape. A striking example of architectural ingenuity. It’s a landmark that reflects Lyon’s past present and future. Enjoy the view from this incredible structure the LCL-Tour Part-Dieu.
