Lasswade High School has seen numerous expansions throughout its history. A “spacious and elegant” two-room schoolhouse was opened in 1843. A larger building followed in 1881. The school moved to its current location in Bonnyrigg in 1956. Further expansions occurred in 1978 and 2000. In 2013, Lasswade High School reopened as the Lasswade Centre after a £38 million rebuild.
