Rust has crept onto the metal. The vibrant paint has begun to peel. Trees have grown around the Lane Tech Totem Pole, partially obscuring it from view. This has sparked concern among alumni. They remember the totem pole in its prime and want to see it restored to its former glory. There have been discussions and efforts to repair the Lane Tech Totem Pole. Alumni have expressed their willingness to donate to a restoration fund. The estimated cost of repairs has been cited as $30,000. The totem pole’s future remains uncertain.
