Lanchester Community Free School

A curious thing happened at Lanchester Community Free School in 2021. Three schools, Ascot Road, Jupiter, and Lanchester, joined forces. They became part of the Danes Educational Trust. This wasn’t a hostile takeover. It was a strategic alliance. Lanchester Community Free School, located on Hempstead Road in Watford, Hertfordshire, gained access to a wealth of resources and experience. The Danes Educational Trust is known for its excellent pupil attainment and professional development opportunities. The school has a capacity of 420 pupils. As of January 2025, there were 363 pupils enrolled. Interestingly, about 10.2% of these pupils were eligible for free school meals.
