Twenty-four fluffy friends greet you at the Lama- & Alpakahof Triesenberg. This isn’t just any farm. It’s a family affair started twelve years ago with just three llamas. Marc Schädler and Anna-Lena Beck dreamed of animals but not the usual farm fare. Llamas it was. Now about 200 trekking tours a year take place here. The tipi on the farm is booked nearly 100 times annually.

The Lama- & Alpakahof is more than a picturesque setting. It’s a cultural hub. People from every continent have visited. They share stories. Anna-Lena and Marc learn about customs and cultures. They even discovered a love for cheese fondue. Anna-Lena enjoys it especially in winter. Marc prefers a cool beer in the summer. He’s a printer by trade and still works part-time.

Karl the llama is a star. He’s Anna-Lena’s favorite. They bottle-fed him as a baby. He’s known for escaping his enclosure. He loves exploring Triesenberg. His favorite time is summer in Malbun. There he enjoys the fresh mountain grass. Marc’s favorite is Aurora Karl’s sister. She’s just as cuddly.

The farm offers incredible variety. Trekking tours last between 1.5 and 6 hours. You can even combine a llama trek with a fondue under the stars. The farm shop is open 24/7. It sells wool products local vegetables and dairy from their own cows. They even have a vending machine. This is the first farm shop vending machine in Liechtenstein. It’s packed with delicacies like mountain cheese and yogurt.

Beyond the llamas and alpacas there’s a stunning view. From 880 meters above sea level you can see Liechtenstein and the Rhine Valley. In the summer months the animals often vacation in Malbun. It’s cooler there. The Lama- & Alpakahof Triesenberg isn’t just a farm. It’s an experience. A taste of Liechtenstein’s unique charm. Remember the friendly faces. Remember the stunning views. Remember your adventure at the Lama- & Alpakahof.
