Could a church ever hold the world’s largest pillow fort? That whimsical question actually arose right here at the Lake Harriet United Methodist Church. This beautiful church, built in 1916, aimed to break a world record while helping those in need. It might sound unusual, but the church organized a drive to collect pillows. Their goal? Construct the largest pillow fort ever seen while also providing essential items to those experiencing homelessness. You can still feel the community spirit when you stand outside Lake Harriet United Methodist Church. Imagine the laughter, the collaboration, and the mountain of pillows collected within these walls. Although the pillow fort is gone, the church’s dedication to compassion and community remains strong.
