One family’s history speaks to us from this very ground. The father of Abah was Tok Ayah Soh. His father was Tok Haji Taib bin Ismail and his mother Hajjah Munah. On Tok Mek’s side her father was Tok Aji Wei also named Ismail. He came from Permatang Pusu. Perhaps Tok Nyang Wei’s grave is there still.

According to family stories Abah’s side was local. However Tok Mek’s father Tok Wei originated from Kedah. In the old days people traveled for the rice harvest. People from Kelantan helped in Kedah. Then people from Kedah migrated to Kelantan for their harvest. It was during this time that they settled here. Now machines do all the work.
The graves of Abah’s ancestors are marked by large stones. In the past they did not write names on gravestones. Tok Ayah Soh’s father began writing names in the 1940s.
Arwah Tok Mek passed away young. She died before her mother in 1969. Tok Su Tok Meh’s sister is still alive. Tok Mek’s mother was known as Tok Minah. She was said to be an amazing woman. She was a hard worker and a businesswoman. She liked to travel and sell fabric. Some say she had 18 husbands. Only Allah knows the truth.
