Before the Republic’s birth, this village bore the name “Yalınlıkebir.” But the legend of the ancient walnut tree, its trunk transformed into a dwelling, etched a new identity into the landscape. Locals recount stories of weary travelers finding shelter within this living house, a door in its gnarled bark their gateway to respite. This landmark tree, its presence woven into the village’s fabric, gave Kozaağacı its name, forever binding it to its unique history. As of 2022, Kozaağacı cradles a community of 423 souls. Located approximately 40 kilometers from Korkuteli and 100 kilometers from Antalya’s heart, Kozaağacı enjoys a unique geography. Its average elevation reaches 1500 meters, culminating in the majestic Ziyaret peak at 2750 meters. The village reigns supreme in the region, boasting the largest expanse of land. Although abundant water sources flow through the area, only a fraction is actively utilized. The Kozaağacı and Çağman reservoirs stand as testaments to the potential held within these waters. The surrounding landscape unfurls a tapestry of valleys: Tatovası, Göl, Çova, Kızlarovası, Kovanlı, and Benli. These larger valleys, along with smaller ones like Öncü, Yayılgan, Çiftemin Düzü, Dumanovası, Solban, and Kovanlı, complete the patchwork of Kozaağacı’s natural domain.
