Global Harvest Church began as an outgrowth of New Song Church. New Song Church was once known as Korean First Baptist Church of Dallas. The original church served first-generation Korean speakers beginning in 1975. As the need arose to minister to English-speaking members, an English Ministry formed.
In 1996, Global Harvest Church officially emerged. It became its own church with a dedicated pastor and staff. The church serves families, college students and people of all ages. While many members are Korean-American the church welcomes all nationalities.
The aim isn’t to be exclusively Korean-American or Asian-American. Instead, it is to be a Christ-centered church. It embraces people from every background and culture. Together, they form one body to know God. They fulfill the Great Commission of Jesus Christ.
In 2006, both congregations moved to a shared site on Fairway in Carrollton. Global Harvest Church remained independent. However, they fostered a close relationship sharing resources. They also participated in joint ministries and events.
In June 2014, Global Harvest Church multiplied. It moved to its own facility on Valwood Parkway in Carrollton. Today, it continues to serve God. It welcomes people from all over the Dallas Fort Worth area.
Global Harvest Church affiliates with three denominational groups. These are the Dallas Baptist Association, the Baptist General Convention of Texas and the Southern Baptist Convention. The Southern Baptist Convention is the largest Christian church association in Texas and America. One in ten American churches affiliate with the SBC.
Each Southern Baptist Church governs itself independently. Every church chooses its own pastor. Every church owns its own buildings and determines its own programs. Affiliation with the SBC allows the church to connect with other Christians. These Christians are known for their commitment to the Bible. The Bible is their only authority.
This affiliation also lets the church participate in global missions. Through the SBC Cooperative Program, they support missionaries worldwide. The Korean Full Gospel Church of Dallas is more than just a church. It is a diverse family united in Christ. It is a place where faith grows. It is a place where everyone is welcome.
