Is this heaven? No, it’s just the Korean Baptist Mission Church in Dallas! Before this beautiful church was built, another church stood here. It was called the First Korean Baptist Church of Dallas. This church was started in 1975 as a mission of the First Baptist Church in Dallas. In the early years, the church was a lifeline for new Korean immigrants. They found companionship and support within its walls. The pastor would even help them get their driver’s licenses and navigate the city. One former member, Connie Kim, remembers how the church helped her family after they immigrated in 1977. The pastor picked them up from the airport, drove them to the grocery store, and showed them around. This sense of community helped Kim find her faith and embrace the church as more than just a place to meet other Koreans. Today, the Korean Baptist Mission Church continues to serve the Korean community in Dallas. It stands as a testament to the faith and resilience of the Korean people. And just like its predecessor, it offers a welcoming space for newcomers to find their footing in a new land.
