Kollegiegården was built in 1961. It features both single rooms and apartments. The single-room wing is a traditional dormitory. It has 169 rooms spread across 13 corridors. Each room is 14 square meters. They have a sink, an internal telephone system, and a door intercom.
Residents can apply for an apartment after six months. These apartments are about 85 square meters. They have three rooms, a TV, a private bathroom and kitchen. Residents also get storage in the attic and basement.
Rent for a room ranges from 2,609 to 3,943 DKK per month. Apartment rent is between 5,370 and 6,652 DKK monthly. A deposit of three months’ rent is required.
Each floor has shared kitchens for 13 to 14 residents. Toilets and showers are also shared on each floor. Kollegiegården also boasts a common room called “Tarmen”. It can be rented for events.
In the basement, you will find a gym. It is equipped with dumbbells, wall bars, and exercise bikes. There is also a banquet room with a bar. A pool table room is available for parties. Renting it costs 500 DKK.
Residents shape Kollegiegården’s community life. Kitchen meetings occur on the first Monday of each month. Larger meetings are held twice a year. Each kitchen sends one representative.
